BIA OJS Division of Drug Enforcement SSA Gary Cunningham and District III ASAC Justin Wendland recently attended meetings in Tucson, AZ, and the Tohono O'odham Nation on the border. A delegation of staffers from the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs were also in attendance. The agreement between BIA Officers and Tribal Officers is part of the PL-93-638 contract that has been in place since the arrival of BIA-OJS on the reservation. According to Tobacco, BIA-OJS were supposed to stay on the reservation until the new police department was up, running and operational, which he says has happened with the formation of CPD.
